This official Grit Guard product is a complete MUST HAVE for any level of detailer. The Grit Guard is a plastic insert that is shaped to go into the bottom of a five-gallon wash bucket. The insert has a grid that is suspended by a crossbar that creates a dirt/sediment trap in the bottom of the bucket.
This suspended grid keeps your wash mitt from coming in contact with grit and contaminants that are left behind during the washing process. This is important because when washing your car, keeping the grit and grime in your wash mitt to a minimum is key. This helps prevents scratching and swirling. Using a Grit Guard will keep your wash mitt from laying in the dirt and grime.
While using a two bucket method, it is advised that you rub both sides of the wash mitt on the Grit Guard to loosen and expel wash-related debris.
