Welcome to the Tour de Bu, 2026.
This is the registration to join us on the drive so we know who's coming and who we need to send the route. You must register to participate in the Concours D'Lemons and book all of your lodging on your own!
The unofficial official route will be emailed once it's completed. For now we recommend immediately booking a place to stay in or near Monterey for car Week. Once the route is finalized, we recommend booking your hotels for the stops along the route ASAP.
Starting point: The Stubb (751 Stubblefield Ln, Liberty Hill, TX 78642)
Ending Point: Concours D’Lemons Monterey Car Week 2026
Start Date: Sunday August 9, 2026 (Probably have a meet/greet/BBQ on Saturday August 8)
End Date: Saturday, August 15, 2026
IMPORTANT: We will arrive in Monterey on Tuesday, August 11, 2026 so book your stay in Monterey from August 11-August 15 2026 at a minimum.
Anyone participating in the Tour de Bu is doing so at their own risk. They will be responsible for their own lives, property, and expenses. This is NOT an organized event. Normal Guy LLC and NG Supercars LLC, its owners, employees, or anyone participating in the Tour de Bu are not responsible in any way for you, your actions, your property, your happiness, or anything associated with the Tour de Bu or anything else in life. Participating in the Tour de Bu is done so by your own free will, accepting fully that you are solely responsible for all of your actions, your property, your insurance, and your health and wellbeing. Participating will likely result in injury or death, and will certainly result in loss of money and property.
Rules (which are merely suggestions, do what you want):
- All Vehicles must be a Chevrolet Malibu (any year or trim level, in any condition)
- Purchase of the Bu must be made after Monterey Car Week 2025 but before Monterey Car Week 2026.
- Purchase price is limited to $3,000 USD.
- You may spend an unlimited amount on upgrades, safety, reliability, comfort, modifications, or any other part of the vehicle.
- Participants are highly encouraged to have a driver and co-driver.
- Bu may be shipped to NG Supercars prior to the start date at your expense with permission by NG Supercars. NG Supercars can store a limited number of Bu’s on their property outside on the lawn for a limited amount of time. Please discuss with NG Supercars to arrange.
- You are responsible for the purchase, sale, title work, registration, insurance, taxes, and any expenses or paperwork for your Bu. NG Supercars can assist with the purchase for a fee.
- Bu must be road legal, registered, and insured.
- Bu must be sold within 30 days after the conclusion of Monterey Car Week 2026. NG Supercars can send your car to wholesale auction but will do so only if the car is listed without reserve. You would be responsible for any fees associated with the sale. Sales price and any profit/loss should be disclosed for voting purposes. Sympathy voting for extreme losses will be encouraged.
- The winner will be chosen by a vote on Normal Guy Supercar.
- The winner gets absolutely nothing. OK, maybe a handshake.
- In fact, nobody actually wins anything, we all leave with only memories and disappointment.
- Each Bu team must bring a GoPro camera and film at least 1 hour of the journey to be eligible to be voted on. A share drive for uploading media will be created for everyone to enjoy. Pictures / Videos posted to your social media accounts should tag Normal Guy Supercar’s respective accounts

- You agree to release all copyrights and ownership of any media created during this event for Normal Guy LLC and NG Supercars to use for commercial purposes. You may also use any of the shared media for your own commercial or personal purposes, but you cannot restrict, claim copyright, or any other rights.
- Bu must be modified in at least 1 way prior to the start.
- Bu must attend the Concours D’Lemons.
- All stops along the route are completely optional. In fact, the route is optional. Do whatever you want. We aren’t your mothers. BUT, if you want to be voted on, the more official stops you make (with proof!) the more likely you are to be voted the winner and win absolutely nothing.
- You are responsible for all of your lodging, food, gas, and any other expenses.
- You must book your own hotels/lodging. The “official” stops are listed on the route and you can book those hotels at your own risk and at your own cost.
- Communication during the event will be through WhatsApp and by walkie talkies. You must bring your own walkie talkie.
- Sharing tools/parts to assist other participants that break down is encouraged. We want everyone to finish.
- It’s recommended to bring your title if you plan to send it to the wholesale auction post Car Week, or in case you have to abandon your Bu. That way you can just sign over the title and leave it on the side of the road.
- These rules may be changed at any point for any reason.

- Immediately Book a Hotel/VRBO/Camp Site/Whatever in Monterey for August 11- August 15, 2026.

BUY a BU!!!
- At some point book a Hotel for stops 1 & 2 on the route.
- Get your Bu to the starting point before the start on Sunday, August 9, 2026.
